Two people injured after serious crash in Woolston

A two-vehicle crash has left a person in serious condition in Christchurch overnight.

The crash occurred on in Smith Street, Woolston at around 7:50pm yesterday.

A Police spokesperson told Chris Lynch Media two people were transported to hospital, one in a serious condition.

The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination but has since re-opened.

A St John spokesperson said they notified of a motor vehicle incident on Smith Street, Woolston, with one operations manager, one rapid response unit, and one ambulance attending.

One patient, in moderate condition, was assessed at the scene but refused treatment.
Shortly after, there was an associated incident on Jura Place, Woolston.
Two patients were transported to Christchurch Hospital. One of these patients was in a serious condition.
