Two people have died following the crash near Oamaru this evening.

Emergency services were alerted to a car that rolled on Ardgowan Road at around 6:30pm.

Police say the two people critically injured, died at the scene.

Two helicopters were sent to the crash along with St John Ambulance and Fire and Emergency crews.

A scene examination is continuing this evening and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
