Helicopter rescue underway after vehicle plunges down bank

A person has suffered serious injuries after a vehicle plunged down a bank north of Nelson.

Emergency services were called to Todd Valley Road just before 5PM to the crash.

A helicopter was called to the scene.

A police spokesman said “emergency services responded to a report of a crash involving a single vehicle on Todds Valley Road.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said one patient with serious injuries, has been airlifted to Nelson hospital.
