Motorists are being warned to expect delays after a three vehicle crash blocked both lanes of the Rakaia River bridge on State Highway 1.

The crash was reported about 6.30am.

There are no reports of serious injuries.

Both lanes remain blocked while the vehicles involved are cleared from the bridge.

Motorists are being advised to allow extra travel time and check the latest highway conditions before travelling
