Some properties in Rangiora are without water after a burst water main outside John Knox Church caused flooding on High Street.

A Waimakariri District Council spokesperson said High Street is closed to traffic between King Street and Durham Street while repairs are underway.

The spokesperson said crews are working to restore supply as quickly as possible.

“We are investigating the cause of the leak. Nothing untoward, just muddy water.”

“Please take extra care if you are driving or walking through the area.

“Our teams are on site and speaking with nearby businesses,” the spokesperson said.
