A person has been seriously injured in a crash in Mairehau.

Emergency services were called to Innes Road, near Nancy Ave just before 9AM.

A St John spokesman said they responded with two ambulances and two rapid response vehicles.

One person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.

Chris Lynch Media understand a police chase had taken place before the crash.
