Police have confirmed a person died following a single motorbike crash on Jones Road, Rolleston.

Emergency services responded to the scene at around 12pm.

A police spokesperson said the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene shortly after.

The Serious Crash Unit has conducted a scene examination and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

The road has now reopened, the spokesperson said.
