Police are investigating an assault at Barrington Park.

The incident happened at 9.15PM last night a police spokesman said.

A police spokesperson said Barrington storage building was cordoned off while police conducted a scene examination and forensics on Sunday.

When Chris Lynch Media arrived at the scene, police were examining a small area near the building.

Recreational sport was still taking place at the park and the nearby playground was open.

A private security guard was also at the scene of the assault.
