Animal rights group SAFE has reported serious concerns to the Ministry for Primary Industries, after being alerted to alleged videos involving sexually explicit content with cows at a New Zealand dairy farm.

The organisation said it had been made aware of apparent dairy farm workers producing adult video content involving mother cows, shared via social media platforms including Instagram and OnlyFans.

SAFE said, “It is deeply concerning to see mother cows who are already being exploited for their reproductive systems being further victimised for the production of sexually explicit video content.”

The group called the actions of all individuals involved “reprehensible and entirely unacceptable” and demanded full accountability from those responsible for the care of the animals.

SAFE said the situation further illustrated what it called the “ongoing exploitation” of mother cows and their calves by the dairy industry.

“This includes the separation of all newborn calves from their mothers so their milk can be taken for human consumption, and the annual slaughter of around two million bobby calves who are regarded as waste products by the industry.”

The group said the public places a great deal of trust in those who work with animals, and “this trust is eroded when animals are treated as props for profit-driven content that degrades their dignity.”

SAFE confirmed it had officially reported the allegations to MPI and would not be commenting further while an investigation was pending.
