Youths arrested at justice facility in Rolleston after climbing on roof

Two youths have been arrested after escaping a justice facility and climbing onto the roof.

A police spokesman said police were called to an incident at a youth justice facility in Rolleston at around 7.20pm last night.

Two youths were reported to be on the roof of Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo, an Oranga Tamariki facility

Police assisted in talking the youths down the spokesman said.

A 17-year-old is due to appear in Christchurch Youth Court today on charges related to the incident, while an 18-year-old man will appear in Christchurch District Court.

No serious injuries were reported.
