WeCare opens new Faringdon clinic redefining how Cantabrians access healthcare

A new medical centre in Faringdon is promising to make healthcare faster, more affordable, and easier to access for Selwyn residents.

Canterbury based primary healthcare provider WeCare has officially opened its new Faringdon clinic, delivering same day, seven day care as part of its mission to transform how New Zealanders experience primary healthcare.

WeCare’s Managing Director Brian Ko said the company’s goal is to build a system that reflects real people’s lives. “We’re building a healthcare model that works for real life, one that’s accessible, affordable, and built around people,” he said.

The new clinic brings WeCare’s full model of accessible, community based care to one of Selwyn’s fastest growing neighbourhoods. It offers extended hours, affordable fees, and a full range of health services under one roof, making it easier for families to get the help they need when they need it.

WeCare’s approach is designed to remove the traditional barriers that make seeing a doctor difficult. By focusing on access, affordability, and teamwork, the company is creating a healthcare experience that’s modern, flexible, and patient centred.

Instead of the traditional single GP model, WeCare uses a Care Team approach where doctors, nurse practitioners, nurse prescribers, physician associates, nurses, extended care paramedics, and other clinicians work together to deliver timely and high quality care.

Each clinic operates under the supervision of a senior advanced clinician, ensuring patient safety and clinical excellence while allowing the team to operate at the top of their professional scope.

This multidisciplinary model means patients spend less time waiting and more time receiving the right care from the right professional.

WeCare is also developing a Connected Care Network across Canterbury, linking its physical clinics, partner providers andonline services to make it easier for patients to move between in person and digital care, with the provider best suited to their individual needs.

Plenty of on-sight parking

The Faringdon clinic is the second of WeCare’s major hub sites, marking another step in expanding its network of accessible, future focused health services.

With same day and seven day care available, WeCare’s Faringdon clinic reflects a major shift toward practical, people focused healthcare.

The company’s commitment to innovation and accessibility is helping reshape the primary care landscape in New Zealand, making healthcare faster, simpler, and more connected for everyone.
