Three people were injured in a crash near Burnham.

A police spokeswoman told ChrisLynchMedia.com emergency services were called to Main South Road (SH1) around 12.10pm following a three-vehicle collision.

A St John spokeswoman said the crash occurred near Aylesbury Road, with three ambulances responding to the scene.

Three patients, all in moderate condition, were transported to Christchurch Hospital.

Motorists experienced delays, although no roads were closed.
