Christchurch police are investigating an aggravated burglary linked to a Facebook Marketplace transaction.
A police spokesperson told chrislynchmedia.com police were called to Riccarton about 8.45pm on Saturday following a report of an aggravated burglary.
During the incident, two people who had arranged an online transaction were allegedly threatened with a vehicle, the spokesperson said.
One person suffered a minor injury.
The alleged offender left the area in a vehicle.
Multiple police units, including a dog handler, attempted to locate the offender but were unsuccessful.
Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 105, quoting event number P065829488.
In late 2024, Christchurch police urged the public to stay vigilant when using Facebook Marketplace after a spike in criminal activity linked to buy and sell exchanges.
Canterbury District Prevention Manager Inspector Ash Tabb said incidents had included robberies, assaults, and scams.
