More than 1400 homes in Halswell and Kennedys Bush are without power on Saturday night due to an unplanned outage.
Orion says the power cut, which begins at 9.50pm, affects 1469 properties in areas including Baker Estate Lane, Beamsgate Road, Bellows Close, Benrogan Drive and surrounding streets.
A spokesperson says crews are on their way to investigate, with the fault possibly located in Sutherlands Road.
“If you have seen or heard anything that may assist us in locating this fault, we would appreciate a call on 0800 363 9898,” the spokesperson says.
No properties have been restored as of 10pm. Power is expected to be back on by 11.51pm.
The cause of the outage is still under investigation.
