Christchurch police are carrying out a pre-planned search warrant which has closed a section of a major state highway.
NZTA said “due to a Police incident, SH1 is currently closed between Burnham Rd and Dunns Crossing Rd. Follow directions of emergency services on site.”
Mongols Motorcycle Club is in that location.
Motorists are being advised to expect delays and follow directions from traffic management staff in the area.
A police spokesperson said they were carrying out a pre-planned search warrant.
Police have not released further details about the nature of the search.
