Christchurch police are investigating after shots were allegedly fired at a Casebrook house overnight.
A police spokesman said they were called to a Sapphire Street residential address about 8.40am on Saturday after damage was found at the property.
“It has been reported that the damage was likely sustained overnight due to a firearm being discharged” the spokesman said.
A neighbour said three shots were fired into a bedroom window and there was a police presence at the house this afternoon.
The house was earlier blocked off by police.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what has occurred the police spokesman said.
Police wouldn’t say if they thought the incident was isolated.
