A person has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being pulled from the water at Taylors Mistake.

A police spokeswoman told chrislynchmedia.com that emergency services were called to the scene at 2.25PM after someone got into difficulty in the water.

A member of the public assisted the person before St John arrived.

A St John spokesman said they responded with a rapid response unit, an ambulance and an operations manager.

The person has been transported to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
