One person is in custody following an incident on Wellington Street this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the area at around 12.40pm.

Cordons were in place, and armed Police were in the area, as a precaution.

One person was taken into custody at the scene.

“Police would like to thank members of the community for their patience and understanding while this incident was ongoing” a spokesperson said.

There was also a separate incident on Olliviers Road around the same time.
