A person has been critically injured in a single-vehicle crash in Christchurch tonight.

A police spokesman said they were called to Summit Road, near Sumner Road, just after 6PM.

Chris Lynch Media understands the vehicle rolled and a person was trapped.

A helicopter was called the scene along with Fire and Emergency crews.

A person was in critical condition, the police spokesman said.

The road was blocked both ways as of 7.20PM.
