Police have targeted the Mongols Motorcycle Club’s headquarters on the outskirts of Christchurch, arresting a person during a morning operation that shut down a stretch of State Highway 1.
Inspector Craig Scott told chrislynchmedia.com “the warrant was to locate a person of interest, who was taken into custody without incident.
“Charges will follow in due course.”
The pre-planned warrant was executed at a property at the gang’s pad between Rolleston and Burnham.
Police blocked off the highway between Burnham Road and Dunns Crossing Road early this morning, with traffic diverted for nearly hour.
The New Zealand Transport Agency said the section of SH1 reopened about 8.50am.
