The team at Addington Train Station is appealing for the public’s help to find their much-loved border collie, Cindy, who has been missing since Monday morning.
Cindy, a red and white border collie, was taken for a walk at South New Brighton Beach by her owner and station colleague Kelvin around 11am on Monday, 3 November.

She was startled by a motorised glider and was last seen running toward the end of Marine Parade, heading toward the spit.
Catherine Adams from the Great Journeys NZ said Cindy is very timid and may be hiding, especially with the noise from fireworks in recent days.
“Cindy isn’t just any dog; she’s part of our Great Journeys NZ family at Addington Train Station.
“She comes in every day with Kelvin, helping with yard work, gardening, and cleaning. She’s always by his side and brings so much joy to everyone she meets,” Adams said.

“She’s our station mascot and a true hero dog. Cindy greets us all with enthusiasm and brightens every single day. Everyone here loves her, staff and passengers alike.”
The team has been sharing photos and details of Cindy’s disappearance across social media and has contacted the Christchurch City Council. Cindy is microchipped and was wearing a collar with her name on it.
Many staff members have joined the search after work but have not yet found her.

“We miss her terribly and just want her home safe,” Adams said. “Your help would mean the world to us and to Cindy’s biggest fan, Kelvin.”
Anyone with information or sightings of Cindy is urged to contact the Great Journeys NZ Addington Train Station team.
