A house in Richmond in Christchurch has been cordoned by police after a man was stabbed in the neck.
A police spokesman told Chris Lynch media they responded to reports of an assault at the residential address on the corner of Hills Road and North Avon Road around 10pm last night.
He said one person sustained a wound to his neck.
A St John spokesman said they responded with an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a manager.
One patient was transported to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
A scene guard was in place overnight and a scene examination is being conducted this morning.
Local residents said the house is split into two units, and the occupants of one of the units often anti-social behaviour.
It’s not the first time police have been to the property locals say.
