Lincoln high school and the primary school were placed into lockdown this afternoon.

Witnesses reported seeing multiple armed police outside the school grounds.

A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch Media Police were notified of a second-hand report that someone had a firearm in the area around 1pm.

“Staff are at the scene and confident there is no firearm or immediate threat.

Police will remain in the area to conduct follow up enquiries into the report and provide reassurance.”
