A third house in Christchurch has been searched by police in relation to missing Christchurch real estate agent Yanfei Bao.
On Saturday, police arrested a man and charged him with kidnapping, but Yanfei Bao remains missing.
The man is expected to appear in the Christchurch District Court today.
A house for sale on Trevor Street in Hornby has been the subject of the police investigation overnight.
The three bedroom property appears vacant – and is on a quiet street.
An Auction by Harcourts was due to take place on Wednesday.
The real estate agent, who was going to hold the auction, said it had been cancelled but didn’t have any specific details.
He said he was going to contact head office to let them know what the situation was.
A police scene guard officer was at the house on Monday morning, but no other officers were at the property.
The house was surrounded by media.
A local resident told a Newshub reporter that he had spotted the silver Mitsubishi sedan police were seeking sightings of, on the street earlier this week.
“He didn’t realise that police were here yesterday, but it did spark his memory that he did say a silver Sedan parked on the street earlier this week that was a wee bit wonky. So potentially that could be the car that police are looking for.”
Residents in Hornby told Chris Lynch Media police officers were door-knocking in the area over the weekend.
Police said the investigation was ongoing and they were seeking sightings of a silver Mitsubishi sedan with the registration DPH101.
They were keen for any information on the car’s movements, particularly on Wednesday July 19 in Wigram, Hornby, Tai Tapu, Halswell and New Brighton.
As reported by Chris Lynch Media, the car was searched by police officers at Wigram Airforce Museum car park on Saturday.
Officers could be seen searching the entire the car, including opening its boot.
The car was being followed by police, before officers approached the man in the vehicle.
An eyewitness at the scene said the man was eventually allowed to drive away.
