If you pop into your local Bunnings this week and see the staff dressed as superheroes, it’s all for a good cause.

It is Heart Kids NZ annual street appeal, helping to spread awareness and raise funds to ensure they can continue providing vital, free support to heart kids and their families.

And Bunnings stores throughout Canterbury are helping by hosting sausage sizzles and having staff shaking donation buckets.

Heart Kids NZ is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support services to the children, teens, young adults, adults and family living with a childhood heart condition. They are the only national organisation in New Zealand dedicated to supporting heart kids through life.

The appeal is being held Friday 29 and Saturday 30 September. Members of the public can also text “HERO” to 2427 to make an instant $3 donation.
