Emergency services are at the scene of a crash involving a bus and a vehicle on Wainoni Road this afternoon.

Witnesses say the bus was full of children who were seen walking out of the bus.

Multiple ambulances are at the scene along with Fire and Emergency crews.
A St John spokesperson told chrislynchmedia.com they were notified of a motor vehicle incident on Wainoni Road, Avondale, at 15:14 today.
Two ambulances, one rapid response unit, and one operations manager attended.
18 patients were assessed in total.
Three patients, one in minor condition and two in moderate condition, were transported to Christchurch Hospital.
The remaining fifteen patients were uninjured.
The crash is between Portsmouth Street and Hampshire Street, a witness said.
Environment Canterbury runs the bus service and a spokesperson said “I can confirm a school bus has been involved in a collision on Wainoni Road this afternoon.
“As this is a developing situation, details are limited at this stage.
We are working with the operator to better understand what has happened.”
