A motorcyclist is lucky to be alive after crashing on Dyers Pass Road.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.30PM on the Governors Bay side of the road.

Fire and Emergency crews, police and St John staff attended.

A emergency service personnel told a local resident the rider tried to overtake a vehicle, but crashed instead.

A police spokesperson said was motorcyclist was not seriously injured and the road was not blocked off.

The incident was not related to the Mongols gang event either they said.
