A two-car crash has blocked the road on the Christchurch side of the tunnel into Lyttelton.

Police were advised of the crash on Tunnel Road, Heathcote Valley, at 3.15pm, which was blocking two lanes.

A police spokesperson said, “Traffic management was put in place and towing has been arranged for the vehicles.”

St John responded with one ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.

A St John spokesperson said, “Three people were assessed by the ambulance crew at the scene, with one of those transported to Christchurch Hospital in a moderate condition.”
