A Mongrel Mob fight broke out in Christchurch’s Emergency Department last night.

A police spokeswoman confirmed to Chris Lynch Media at 8:15pm police received a report that a small group of gang members had an altercation in the Hospital’s ED waiting room.

One person had been assaulted.

A person was taken into custody the spokeswoman said.

Police arrived within minutes of the fight.

The offenders reported to police were described as Mongrel Mob gang members the spokeswoman said.

Police initially said a worker was assaulted, but on Thursday morning, the hospital said no employees were assaulted.
