2.50PM: Multple children have been injured, including one seriously, at a Christchurch kindergarten.
St John has confirmed to chrislynchmedia.com it was notified at 1.13pm of an incident on Ferry Road in Woolston.
18 emergency units are now on scene, including nine ambulances, three rapid response units, five operations managers and one Major Incident Support Team vehicle.
A St John spokesperson said crews are assessing dozens of patients.

“One patient has been transported to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition, and a further two have been taken to hospital in moderate condition.
That brings the total to five, with one serious and four moderate.”
Chris Lynch Media understands the injuries are from chemical burns after a substance was tipped down a slide.
One four year old girl has been taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious burns to her legs and buttocks after a chemical liquid spill.
A St John ambulance command unit has been sent to the scene.
Fire and Emergency shift manager Lynn Crossan told chrislynchmedia.com that units from Woolston and Christchurch City have been called to the scene, along with a Hazmat unit.

Ministry of Education spokeswoman Andrea Williams said “we are in close contact with the early learning service and are offering our support.
We will continue to work alongside them regarding the incident and take any necessary steps to ensure the wellbeing of children and staff.”
