Christchurch City Council has confirmed it is working with the Tactix to organise a public celebration following the team’s historic ANZ Premiership victory.
The Tactix made history on Sunday night by claiming their first-ever ANZ Premiership title, defeating the defending champions, the Mystics, 58–46 at The Trusts Arena in Auckland.
The match was closely contested, despite the Tactix being considered underdogs heading into the game, with the odds favouring the incumbent champions.
Several readers contacted chrislynchmedia.com wanting to know if there would be a celebration.
Events and Arts Manager Lucy Blackmore said, “We’re in contact with management of the Tactix and we are working together on an event for fans to celebrate the win with the players. Details are still being confirmed.”
