Christchurch police are investigating a suspicious car fire.

A police spokeswoman said they received a report of a car fire near the corner of Wattle Drive and New Brighton Road about 11.35pm on Friday.

The car involved was stolen the spokeswoman said.

When Fire and Emergency crews arrived at the scene the car was fully involved.

There were no reports of injuries.

A police investigation is ongoing.
