A person has suffered moderate injuries after flipping their vehicle upside down in Hei Hei and then smashing it over a power pole.

A police spokesman told chrislynchmedia.com about 10.05pm, police were called to Tauiwi Crescent following reports of a vehicle rolling.

A St John spokeswoman said they responded with an ambulance to the scene.

“Our crew assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Christchurch hospital in a moderate condition.”

Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash the police spokesman said.
