Christchurch Mayor Phil Mauger has expressed his frustrating following multiple thefts at the city’s public parks.

He said after speaking to staff in the parks team, they confirmed to him that 17 nest swings had been targeted and stolen from across the city in the past year, including at Rāwhiti Domain (above)

“That’s just not on.

“These are the kinds of swing that everyone and anyone can use and enjoy so this is beyond disappointing to hear.

Mauger is urging anyone who sees anything missing from playgrounds to call the Christchurch City Council on 03 941 8999 and “hopefully we can sort this out.”
