A postmortem examination has been completed as police continue investigating the death of missing Christchurch man Braydon Hepworth.
Officers are still examining a Hereford Street property where a body believed to be that of the 21-year-old was discovered yesterday during a search warrant.
Christchurch Metro Crime Detective Inspector Scott Anderson said the scene examination would take some time to complete.
“This investigation is complex, with a range of enquiries to follow and material to be reviewed.”
Police have not released the findings of the postmortem or further details about the circumstances of Hepworth’s death.
Yesterday, police said the death was being treated as unexplained and formal identification procedures were under way.
Hepworth was last seen at the Z Energy service station in Linwood on September 3.
Anderson renewed an appeal for information about his movements.
“We are committed to finding out what has happened to Braydon and why, and continue to appeal to anyone who may have information to come forward.
“We ask that anyone who has knowledge of Braydon’s movements, or who has information that could help the investigation, to please speak with us.”
Police said they were unable to comment further and would provide more information when they were in a position to do so.
