Cyclist airlifted to hospital after going over bank in Sumner

A cyclist has been airlifted to hospital with moderate injuries after going over a bank in Sumner.

Police said they were first advised of the incident on Evans Pass Road at approximately 11.30am.

St John said it received a call about an incident at Captain Thomas Track and responded with an ambulance, an operations manager and a helicopter.

One patient was treated before being transported to hospital in a moderate condition.
