A 70-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Timaru last week.

Mary Shaw was critically injured near the intersection of Wai-iti Road and Wilson Street about 11.40am on August 18.

She was taken to hospital, where she died two days later.

Police said their thoughts remained with her family and friends.

The driver had been spoken to by police, and the circumstances of the crash remained under investigation.
