Police are appealing for information after a vehicle reportedly left the scene of a two vehicle crash in Lincoln without stopping to speak to the other driver.

A police spokesperson said the crash occurred shortly before 9.40pm on Wednesday at the intersection of Shands Road and Springston Rolleston Road.

Senior Constable Glen Tweedie said one of the vehicles involved was believed to be a silver or grey 2021 Nissan Navara.

Police inquiries suggested the Nissan had been travelling on Springston Rolleston Road before the collision.

The vehicle was believed to have damage to the front, likely near the left hand side.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the Nissan travelling on Springston Rolleston Road or in the surrounding area between 9.10pm and 10.10pm on Wednesday.

Officers were also seeking dashcam footage that may have captured the vehicle.

Tweedie urged the Nissan driver, or anyone who could help identify them, to contact police immediately.

Information can be provided online at 105.police.govt.nz by selecting “Update Report”, or by calling 105 and quoting file number 260821/9719.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
