One person is in custody following an Armed Offenders Squad callout in south Christchurch this morning.

A police spokesperson told chrislynchmedia.com there was a callout on Opawa Road.

Local residents told this news site said that the road had been blocked by police at the intersection of Brougham Street, as well as Ensors Road.

Police said, “A person reported being threatened by another person in possession of an alleged firearm.”

“One person is now in custody. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
