Four people were injured, including two seriously, in a two vehicle crash in Rangiora last night.

A police spokesperson told chrislynchmedia.com police received a report of the crash at the intersection of Cones Road and River Road about 9.45pm.

The road was blocked while emergency services were at the scene.

A St John spokeswoman said they responded with four ambulances, a rapid response unit and a manager.

Two patients in a serious condition and one patient in a moderate condition were treated and transported to Christchurch Hospital.

One patient in a minor condition was assessed and treated at the scene.
