A mother of five, who died after her car smashed through a fence in Burside has been named as Miriata Lee Houkamau.
The 34-year-old was driving along Grahams Road, between Cranbrook and Wayside avenues, when her car went through a residential fence about 10.50pm on Monday 27 April.
She was taken to hospital but later died of her injuries.

“Police’s thoughts are with her family,” a police spokesperson said.
Homeowner Chris Lyall told Chris Lynch Media he was asleep when the car tore through his fence and flattened a tree more than 40 years old.

Miriata Lee Houkamau naming follows a renewed police appeal to track down a man believed to be the last person to see her before emergency services arrived.
He was driving a white SUV and turned left onto Grahams Rd from Wairakei Rd.

He stopped briefly after the crash but left the scene before help arrived, police said.
