Nearly 7000 properties are without power across the Rolleston and Lincoln areas this morning following an unplanned outage.

Network provider Orion says the fault, which cut power at 8:51am, is still under investigation.

A spokesperson says the company hopes to have power restored by around 10:50am.

They told chrislynchmedia.com “We are investigating this outage and are looking into reports of possible causes.

“In the meantime, we have begun restoring power. We’d like to thank our customers for their patience and update information on the outage is available on our website.”

The outage affects suburbs and townships including Broadfield, Burnham, Ellesmere, Greenpark and Irwell, with close to 6,990 properties affected.
