Emergency services have been called to a crash involving two trucks in Yaldhurst this afternoon.

A police spokesperson said the crash happened at 12.40pm at the intersection of Ryans and Guys roads.

Fire crews were called to free one of the drivers who was trapped in the cab.

A St John spokesperson said they responded with an ambulance, and one patient was assessed at the scene before being transported to Christchurch Hospital in a moderate condition.

The intersection remained closed at 3pm.
