A shop attendant has been stabbed during a robbery at a dairy on Opawa Road, and police have cordoned off the entire store.

Police have been called around 6.40am to a report of a robbery and an assault at the business.

A police spokesperson said officers responded immediately, but the alleged offenders had already fled in a vehicle.

It is understood the attacker used a sharp object that wasn’t a knife to stab the worker.Blood could be seen on the doorsteps of the dairy.

St John Ambulance confirmed crews attended and rushed the injured man to hospital.

He received moderate injures, but it is understood they are not life threatening.

Police said enquiries were ongoing to find the alleged offenders.

The three offenders’ faces were covered.

Meanwhile, a member of the public contacted chrislynchmedia.com after finding a smashes till on Dyers Road.

It’s believed it may be linked to the robbery and police have been informed and are following up.
