Care and support workers in Christchurch have protested in Hornby today calling on the Government to fully fund a pay equity settlement.
The rally was part of a nationwide campaign organized by the three care and support unions, following their filing with the Employment Relations Authority.
Care workers say they’ve been waiting far too long for a decent pay equity settlement and that Government must front up.
The roles in care and support include disability support, aged residential care, home support, and mental health and addictions support.
