A person has been seriously injured in a two vehicle crash in Harewood.

A police spokesman said they were called to reports of the crash on the intersection of Greers Road and Harewood Road around 11:50am.

Fire and Emergency crews assisted the occupants out of their vehicles.

The road was partially blocked.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said they responded with one ambulance. 

Ambulance officers treated and transported one patient, in a serious condition, to Christchurch Hospital.
