A fleeing car carrying five youths has been road-spiked by Police in Christchurch this afternoon.

The stolen vehicle failed to stop for Police on Halswell Junction Road just before 2pm.
The car was spiked twice, and it came to a stop near Hamill Road, Halswell.
Video of the incident was sent to Chris Lynch Media.

Five young people were taken into custody. They will be referred to Youth Services, a police spokesperson said.

A witness told Chris Lynch Media they saw four police cars, including police dogs, with an officer laying spikes in different directions.
