One person has been transported to Christchurch hospital following a crash near the Southern Motorway this morning.

Police were alerted to a two-vehicle crash on the Curletts Road Off-Ramp just before 7.50am.

A police spokeswoman said one person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

One lane was blocked for a short time while emergency services cleared debris on the road.

Meanwhile, there are reports of ice affecting State Highway 73 in West Melton this morning.

A Christchurch Transport Operations spokesperson said contractors will be working in the area and is urging motorists to take extra care.
