A garage and a sleep-out from two seperate houses have been gutted by a fire in the Christchurch suburb of Northcote.
Fire and Emergency crews were called to the blaze on Hoani Street at 5pm.
Fire trucks from Ilam and Redwood stations attended.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said it’s too early to know what caused the fire, but the blaze acts as a reminder that buildings like sleepouts need to have working smoke alarms.
No one was injured.
Fire crews remain at the scene as well as several police officers.
