Video footage of damage caused by overnight shooting at a Christchurch tattoo parlour has been posted online.

A police spokeswoman says they received reports of a firearm being discharged at a commercial property on Lincoln Rd, Addington, at 11.40pm on Tuesday.

The tattoo parlour Muscle Ink Nation is owned by Hamish Hiroki, who is the former national president of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club.

The police spokeswoman says no one was inside the property at the time.

Video footage online shows shattered glass from multiple gun shots.

Hamish Hiroki left the gang to make a better life for his family and has been invovled in raising awareness about mental health issue.

He told Newshub late last year “I definitely do not want him to follow in my footsteps, because he hasn’t lived the life that I’ve lived.”

In December, Mr Hiroki started a fundraising campaign to help homeless people in Christchurch.
